This Week in 205 - 9/21 to 9/25

Monday - Finish work on "Dinner for Eight." Defend your positions at the table and the reasons you put people where you did. Review for upcoming "quest." HW - Complete "Facebook Status Updates" for each of the eight attendees and study for "quest."

Tuesday - Periods 1, 4 and 6 - "Quest" on Chapter 3. A quest is like a big quiz or a small test, hence the combination of the terms.

Wednesday - Period 2 - "Quest" on Chapter 3. A quest is like a big quiz or a small test, hence the combination of the terms. Period 4, 6 bring "1776" to class, active reading activity. HW - Read 1st half of Chapter 2 in "1776" p20-41 and answer questions below:

Chapter 2 - "Rabble in Arms"
1. In what way was Greene an unlikely general? What were his qualifications? What was his opinion of the way to keep the British in Boston? Why and how?
2. Of what groups was the army composed? What various names were given the armies and how well were they equipped?
3. Describe conditions and behaviors in the camps. What was Washington's view of this? How were officers distinguished from regular troops? Why was this necessary? To what extent was there discipline? Why?

Thursday - In class, discussion and notes on the acts of Parliament against the American colonies during the 1760s and 1770s. HW - Chapter 4 Section 1, read p100-106 and answer questions on p106 #1-4

Friday - Check and review homework from Thursday night. Watch the first episode "Join or Die" of the HBO miniseries John Adams.
